Eco Friendly SIPS Cottage

Planning restrictions forced the Cain's to work within a very limited footprint and ridge height. Using SIPs has allowed the architect to design a three bedroom bungalow on a plot 9.5m Long by 6m wide.

INTERESTING FACT: The SIPs erection took only six long days to complete, working through atrocious weather conditions. The fact that the building was watertight so quickly has allowed the internal follow on trades to commence work. Using SIPs has dramatically reduced the total construction time for the project.

Foundation: Block & Beam
Walls and roof: Kingspan TEK Building System (SIPs)
Outer walls: Sandstone
Roof Tiles: Grey Slate
Heating: Underfloor to the ground floor only.
