Eco Offices, Meltham, Near Huddersfield
Stephen's aim was to build an eco office development with the minimum of disruption and in the shortest timescale possible. Stephen commented that the SIPs erection was unbelievably undramatic even through all the bad weather January threw at us. The building was simply built as per the approved drawings and during the three weeks on site the erection team hardly bothered him and he was able to carry on working uninterrupted in the adjacent garage. The exact opposite of his experience using traditional methods.

INTERESTING FACT: Stephen is letting the offices and his unique selling point is that heating costs are included in the rent. Following heat loss calculations he is confident that this will cost him a small amount of money due to the superb insulation aqnd airtightness that Sips offer.

Foundation: Concrete Strip Foundations
Walls and roof: SIPs - using the Kingspan TEK Building System
Outer walls: Mixture of natural coursed stone to match existing nd render.
Roof Tiles: Spanish blue slate
Heating: Underfloor heating powered by an airsource heat pump.
