SIPS Contemporary Bungalow, Stonebridge, Durham

When Mr & Mrs Mackie wanted to demolish their old farmhouse and create a very sustainable single storey building it soon became apparent that Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) would tick all the right boxes.

INTERESTING FACT: Mr & Mrs Mackie saw us at one of the Homebuilding & Renovating Shows and then instructed the architect that they wanted to build out of SIPs. This was the first time the architects, Dixon Dawson, had used SIPs but they are now looking at future projects as they were so impressed with how this project went.

Foundation: Concrete Raft Floor Slab
Walls and roof: The Kingspan TEK Building System
Outer walls: Western Red Cedar laid horizontally/Random coursed natural stone panels
Roof Tiles: Colorcoat Urban Roof Cladding in Bottle Green
Gutters: Pressed Metal Colorcoat (bottle green) with Tata steel Urban range fascia & soffit system.
Heating: Underfloor heating throughout
