SIPS Extension, St Aidans School, Harrogate

The Architect Peter Eves required the new extension to be completed during the school summer holidays and to comply with the new part “L” of the building regulations. Using the Kingspan TEK Building System both these criteria were achieved.

The materials

Foundation: Concrete raft
Walls and roof: TJI joists and plywood decking to form the structure of the roof and a proprietary flat roof system to form a waterproof seal
Outer walls: Vertical cedar boarding
Heating: Standard wet radiator system


The Build

Our section of the contract was completed in only eight days which enabled the internal and external follow on trades to commence work far earlier than with a traditional build. The contract was completed on time and the school were able to occupy the building for the start of the Autumn term.
