SIPS Extension to Ty'n y Felin Outdoor Pursuits Centre, Anglesey

The architect, Richard Williams, set out to design a low energy environmentally friendly building. In addition to using SIPS panels he also added an additional 50mm of Insulation to improve the ā€œUā€ value for the building to 0.15. The building also incorporates a grey water harvesting system and solar Panels.

INTERESTING FACT: Richard Williams is delighted with the performance of the building, the underfloor heating was only used twice over the winter period 2006/2007, which is quite remarkable considering its exposed coastal location.

Foundation: Concrete Strip
Walls and roof: Kingspan TEK Building System
Outer walls: Rendered finish with areas of timber cladding
Roof Tiles: Grey Slate
Heating: Underfloor to ground floor only and MVHR system. Hot water provided by solar panels.
