SIPs Modern Barn Dwelling, Skipton Old Road, Colne

Jason bought an almost derelict building with planning consent for a small dwelling footprint of 10.5m X 6.5m. By using Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) Jason has managed to achieve a spacious three bedroomed house with vaulted ceilings to the first floor.

INTERESTING FACT: Jason has undertaken the erection work himself with the help of a local joiner. Jason and particularly the stonemason working on site were amazed at how fast the building was erected - they managed to get to the first floor level in only four days. Wayne (the stonemason) commented " if we were building traditionally with a blockwork skin I wouldn't have reached first floor level - building with SIPs will take months off the build program"
