Steep Pitched SIPs House, Fallowfield

The roof pitch is very steep at 62 degrees which did cause a few problems when fixing the breather paper. The roof design has enabled Isobel to fully utilise the limited plot size and she has managed to achive a spacious three bedroomed house with a footprint of 9m X 10m.

INTERESTING FACT: The site agent Tom Oliver had never previously been involved in a SIPs build and at first was a little sceptical as regards the merits of the system. He is now looking forward to doing another similar contract having been impressed with the accuracy of the build and the simplicity with which normally difficult junction details were dealt with around the roof & wall and the wall & joist detail. These simple airtight junctions combined with integral insulation ensure a warm, low heat home for the client.
