Why does Kingspan TEK Haus Building System use OSB 3 instead of plywood?
Using OSB 3 actually produces a stronger panel than plywood and is available in longer lengths. In addition, it is more stable than plywood, especially when exposed to moisture and much more could be regarded as being sustainable utilising the routine thinnings from managed plantations. OSB 3 is available in a wide range of sizes and at a lower cost than plywood, which allows us to produce a more affordable SIP.
