Structurally Insulated Panels Office Extension

This was one of the first projects we carried out back in 2002. It was important that the finished office matched the existing house (1870’s) particularly because it is in the Yorkshire Dales National Park and was sensitive to the planning department.

INTERESTING FACT: The timber ridge beam that runs down the centre of the office is nearly 13m long!

The materials

Foundation: Concrete Strip with insulated concrete slab.
Walls and roof: Kingspan TEK Building System
Outer walls: Natural Second Hand Yorkshire Coursed Stone
Roof Tiles: Burlington Slate
Heating: Two radiators from oil fired Central heating system in the existing house.
