Raising the Roof using SIPs
The client had purchased a bungalow on a fantastic plot, the architects brief was to add an additional floor to achieve a low energy four bedroomed family home. The lightweight nature of SIPs and the speed of erection has allowed the architect to achieve his goal.

INTERESTING FACT: The total time period for the whole contract should be no more than five months. SIPs have played a great part in achieving this short build period, but a great deal of credit must go down to the planning and organisation of the main contractor, Paul Armstrong, who now has the experience of working on over four SIPs contracts with SIPS@Clays.

Foundation: Existing ground floor block walls
Walls and roof: The Kingspan TEK Building System (SIPs)
Outer walls: Traditional Yorkshire Dales Stone to match the existing.
Roof Tiles: Stone Slates
Heating: Underfloor heating.
